The Seven Series: A Unique Fusion of Up-and-Coming Artists and Journalists

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Ypsilanti, Mich.)
- Antonio Cooper, Derek “ShotbySpecs” Dandridge, and The Amplify Project, based out of Washtenaw County, are working together to captivate audiences with its new production titled “The Seven Series,” set to debut May 24, 2024.

This online performance and interview series is an innovative approach to storytelling, music performance, and showcasing local talent in and around Washtenaw County.

The debut episode captures R&B singer Kristianna performing her single “Twisted” from her debut album Too Late To Be Sorry. Afterward, Kristianna sits with journalist Aaron Hughes to discuss her career and progression as a songwriter.

This platform allows local artists to showcase their talent and offer aspiring journalists an opportunity to sharpen their on-camera and writing skills. The next two episodes will feature artists Kenyatta Rashon, and Dani Darling and journalists Melody Brooks and Candis Alisha

The Seven Series is supported by Leon Speakers as its primary shooting location. Sponsors include the Ann Arbor Observer, Zingerman's Community of Businesses, and FedUp Ministries. The series is hosted by The Amplify Project, a 501c(3) nonprofit that identifies and mobilizes resources for independent Black musical artists in Washtenaw County. The initiative has supported Washtenaw County artists like Ki5, and London Beck, to release critically acclaimed projects.

“I am very thankful for Amplify, for giving this platform a home, and to our sponsors and performers who believe in the success of this project,” says Antonio Cooper, executive producer of The Seven Series.

Future participants and sponsors who seek to support the program can connect with Cooper by emailing Antoniocooper88@gmail.com.
